Purple Duo

Chloe had put a 'purple dress' on her Christmas wish list, so I thought I'd oblige. I chose the duo tone dress from the latest Ottobre Design in plain and embroidered purple babycord. I had to take the bodice in quite a lot as it looked too large, so I was a little apprehensive when Chloe put it on this morning, but I'm pleased to say it is a perfect fit and she is delighted with it!

Now that it's all over...

....I can show you what I've been busy making...

A bag for one of my closest friends, which I really hope she likes!

Super Soft Stripes

Chloe has never seemed to feel the cold...up until this winter, so I decided it was time to use this lovely super soft (and surprisingly warm) striped cotton jersey. The outfit is completed by a tiered magenta skirt and some fantastic magenta and navy striped tights that match perfectly the colours in the top.

All dressed up (and nowhere to go)!

When my daughter saw the material I was about to use to make some culottes for myself her face fell as she told me "I would have liked a dress or a skirt in that". Well lucky for her there was enough for us both...so I now have a pair of culottes and Chloe has her dress...

Christmas Market

Next weekend one of my closest friends and I are taking our wares to the Christmas Market at my daughters school, so apart from frantically producing a new winter wardrobe I've also been making some items to sell...

Bird on a Wire

Well, more bird on a branch really...!

Grey Days

To make a change I decided to do a little bit of sewing for me and make a new skirt and matching bag. I'm very happy with the result and looking forward to wearing & using them!

Fabrics from http://www.dotsnstripes.co.uk/ Skirt pattern from Ottobre Design and bag 'Alles Drin' from Farbenmix.

"I don't like trousers...."

"....but these are so comfortable I love them!"

I'm pleased to say this was my daughters verdict on the one pair of trousers she has in her wardrobe for this winter.

The outfit is made using beautiful Elisabet pink babycord by Hilco from Dots n Stripes and grey cotton velvet. The trousers are in the style Dorte by Farbenmix and the tunic is my design.

Paris Coat

The style of this gorgeous coat is called Paris, and it certainly does have a certain Parisien je ne sais quoi...

More Pink Tops

Since there are so many shades of pink we couldn't have just one pink top....

Autumn Colours

Well sort of....the brown is anyway!

Made in dusky pink jersey and fine floral babycord using patterns from Ottobre Design.

Q Shorts

These have become a firm favourite with Chloe and I, so I made another pair in lime green babycord for the winter with tights, and hopefully even into spring too...

I thought we were in Autumn?

I made this top and belt to match these shorts for Chloe's birthday with the idea of her wearing them with tights, however given it was 29 degrees I was surprised she even wanted to try on a long sleeved top (I didn't even suggest tights...!)

Q Shorts

After my first summer version of these shorts I knew there would be more...and here is the second pair from the book Mademoiselle in embroidered purple babycord. Chloe wore them to school last week and looked lovely!

Shhh it's a surprise!

It's my daughter's 8th birthday next week and as well as needing new clothes (well more like a whole new wardrobe) she actually wants some new clothes...so I've made her a striped red top using the knot top from Ottobre Design and added a ruffle as this is her favourite colour. To complete the outfit are a pair of denim shorts for which I've made a belt, some red tights and some silver party shoes...but you''l have to wait a week to see them!

Where do I start for Autumn and Winter?

....With some pyjamas...

I used the Ottobre Design patterns Knot Top and Licorice Leggings (without the pintucks) and a metre of cotton interlock jersey combined with a rather too short summer nightie kindly donated by my Mum, which I recycled into the sleeves and neckline binding! Less than an hour after I finished them my daughter told me she had been cold in bed the night before, so please could she wear her new pyjamas now?!?!

Birthday Present

Now my Mum has had her birthday (and her presents) I can post the photo of the present I made for her. Mum had often said that she would like a long wipe clean apron, and as I couldn't find one I liked I decided to have a go at making one. After all the tips I read on stitching oilcloth I was dreading it, but with a very long stitch length setting and a denim needle it wasn't as bad as I feared...

Special Occassion Dress

I made this love dress from the Farbenmix pattern Willemientja for a family celebration earlier in the summer and if todays lovely weather continues my daughter will be able to wear it next weekend for another birthday celebration!

I hope we still have some summer left that I might get to wear it...?

Chocolate

Well that's the colour of the fabric, and with some pink embroidery, beading, buttons and bias trim I think they look rather yummy!!!
