Raspberry Shorts

These shorts caught my eye as soon as I saw them and they look just as lovely in reality. I've made them in a cotton linen mix raspberry pink fabric for summer but next time I might made them in babycord for the winter.

My next project for my Mademoiselle

I bought my first Japenese sewing books this week (in french!) and have found some wonderful patterns. I've just started the first of what I'm sure will be many from the book 'Mademoiselle' by Yuki Araki.

Come back soon to see the result!

Driven Dotty

Well this skirt really has driven me dotty as since I'm a bit of a perfectionist I've spent so much time on it...firstly the dots didn't match up, then the hem band that I would have liked to have done didn't lie right and finally I found the back was too high so that the zip dug in.....

Having taken it apart and completely remade it I'm finally very happy with it!

One For Me

Since we came home from holiday I seem to have been doing all sorts of small bits and pieces, presents, mending, alterations, with nothing much to show for my time, however I have at last managed to get back to some proper sewing and make a tee shirt for myself. Pattern from Ottobre Design.

Antonia Remade

I made this top last year and my daughter loved it, originally it had plain jersey on the shoulders and as ribbing around the neck, but this had started to look a bit tired I took it apart and replaced it with patterned fabric. I'm pleased to say that like me, my daughter prefers the remake!

My Other Hobby

As well as sewing I do enjoy making cards, especially with one of my very good friends, who shares the same hobby and who has inspired me with some of her lovely creations. These ones though, are a few I've done.

Patchwork Bags

My daugher has had a fantastic year at school with two super teachers, so I wanted to make something nice for her to give them as presents, that I hope will last....

I made the pattern up to suit the Amy Butler fabrics that I wanted to use, and was really pleased with the result. I might have to make one for myself sometime soon.....

Sunshine at Last!

Holidays in the mountains means that sunshine is never guaranteed, but we were really lucky with our two weeks in the French Alps....the sunhat got lots of wear, in fact I'm really surprised it hasn't faded!
