Mix and Match

A little mix and match selection for Chloe, the tops are made using some of my stash of jersey remnants!

Summer Sweatshirt

My favourite fabric shop Dots n Stripes had this beautiful sweatshirt weight cotton jersey fabric last week at the Sewing for Pleasure Exhibition at the NEC, and I could resist turning some into a summer sweatshirt for Chloe. That said it also makes a nice warm top for this un-spring like weather! The pattern is Clementine by Farbenmix, also available through www.dotsnstripes.co.uk

Maman et Moi

It's very rare I use the same material for Chloe and I, but we both liked this fabric and thought it would go really well with jeans. So now we both have our tops, but in two very different styles...

Mariluz

Chloe was in need of a new Spring and Autumn weight coat as the last one I made her (which lasted two years) had got too small. I had seen the Mariluz pattern and liked it's cut, so decided although the instruction are in German only, to have a go. Inspired by having replaced the zip in a coat for one of Chloe's lovely teachers I also decided to interline the coat with volume fleece for extra warmth, as the outer is a very fine and soft babycord and the lining is cotton poplin. I don't think I've ever spent five days making anything before, and I also don't think I shall try sewing with metallic thread again (well maybe in the bobbin), but I'm very pleased I did.....

Going Round in Circles

...but not this time round (sorry!) at least!! I enjoyed making myself this Langness skirt in a very different colour for me.

Shades of Grey

A new skirt for winter...livened up by a spash of pink!

Black and White

Before getting started on some spring clothes for Chloe I thought (very unusually) I would treat myself to some new clothes first....

The pattern is Svea by Farbenmix made in a cotton and polyester jersey.
