After my first summer version of these shorts I knew there would be more...and here is the second pair from the book Mademoiselle in embroidered purple babycord. Chloe wore them to school last week and looked lovely!

Shhh it's a surprise!
It's my daughter's 8th birthday next week and as well as needing new clothes (well more like a whole new wardrobe) she actually wants some new clothes...so I've made her a striped red top using the knot top from Ottobre Design and added a ruffle as this is her favourite colour. To complete the outfit are a pair of denim shorts for which I've made a belt, some red tights and some silver party shoes...but you''l have to wait a week to see them!

Where do I start for Autumn and Winter?
....With some pyjamas...
I used the Ottobre Design patterns Knot Top and Licorice Leggings (without the pintucks) and a metre of cotton interlock jersey combined with a rather too short summer nightie kindly donated by my Mum, which I recycled into the sleeves and neckline binding! Less than an hour after I finished them my daughter told me she had been cold in bed the night before, so please could she wear her new pyjamas now?!?!

Birthday Present
Now my Mum has had her birthday (and her presents) I can post the photo of the present I made for her. Mum had often said that she would like a long wipe clean apron, and as I couldn't find one I liked I decided to have a go at making one. After all the tips I read on stitching oilcloth I was dreading it, but with a very long stitch length setting and a denim needle it wasn't as bad as I feared...
