The top was fiddly with all the frills, but is otherwise a simple top pattern and the skirt is my own adaptation on the Farbenmix Noelle pattern, which is now too small for Chloe, with sequins hand stitched all around the hem for a festive feel.

Christmas Outfit
...For Chloe
The top was fiddly with all the frills, but is otherwise a simple top pattern and the skirt is my own adaptation on the Farbenmix Noelle pattern, which is now too small for Chloe, with sequins hand stitched all around the hem for a festive feel.

Christmas Decorations
No, I didn't make the top - it was a sale bargain, but I enjoyed decorating it with a festive design!
Autumn Basics
To go under jumpers, glittery cardigans etc I really like cowl neck tops, so I've made two for myself this autumn, one beige and one cream.
And to stand out all on it's own, an abstract print one:

Oh Deer Me!!!
I thought this fabric was so lovely when I saw it, but sadly Chloe is just too old now for cute outfits, however the idea of a bag seemed like a good one, and different from all the sweet owl bags that seem very popular at the moment. I used the concept of the bag Bube by Farbenmix to draw my own pattern for a school bag for Chloe, including adding a zip under the flap and inside pockets with popper fastening. I love the result and hope Chloe does too, but shh, it's a Christmas surprise!!!
Tactile Textured Jersey
So nice to see something different with purple...I'd never thought of grey, and just the thing to go with the grey skirt I made earlier this year. I loved the look of this jersey in the photo, and the feel of it is even better! It was surprisingly easy to sew with and is lovely and warm, even on a really chilly day like today.
Fortunately I had just enough left to make a matching scarf! Textured jersey from www.dotsnstripes.co.uk

Flowers For Mum
I don't sew very much for my Mum, as she makes some lovely things herself, but not having worked with jersey before I offered to do this one for her. I'm pleased she likes the result.

Zig Zag Stripes
I set out to make the pin tuck tunic from the Ottobre Design 2/2008 for me, but the pin tucks looked odd with the zig zags, so I made one larger inverted pleat in the front and lined the pattern up, so from the top you can't tell, and I'm pleased with my adaptation.
Cute Cats
I've been looking for ideas to complement this black and pink jersey for a while, when I found this cat image, which I then duplicated to make two cute cats cut out in holographic black flex.

Mmm...Mustard
...not the edible sort, but the colour, mainly because it's completely different. Chloe also has a pair of mustard yellow tights and a chunky cardigan to complete the look...

Fun with flex
I've been wanting to have a go cutting tee shirt vinyl with my Craft Robo for the best part of a year now, but haven't had the courage..until now
I designed my own pattern so that I could embellish one panel (just in case it all went wrong) which I'm pleased to say it didn't...

Check Mate!
Chloe really wanted a checked shirt, and we both liked this fabric...well Chloe still likes the fabric, but having spent so long matching up the checks I'm not so sure!

Sewaholic
Me...yes, probably, but in this instance, no it's the name of the publisher of this cowl neck top pattern I liked the look of. This one's for me, but as the pattern goes down to a UK size 6 I don't think it will be very long before my daughter asks for one, oh and my Mum has aleady put her order in!

Call of the Wild
Chloe and I both loved the print of this fabric we found at a market this summer, and as it was sold in 5 yard lenths there was enough for both of us...For Chloe I used the Double Dots tunic pattern from Ottobre Design, combined with a beige cord skirt, in the style Zilli from Farbenmix, finished with a loop scarf that Chloe made herself.

Winter Wrapped Up
Chloe asked if she could have a smart but warm winter coat this year and having looked in lots of shops we couldn't find what we were looking for, so I started to think about making her one, as it's something I've always wanted to try doing. We then found the perfect fabric, all that was left was the perfect pattern. In the end I chose a Simplicity Project Runway pattern and modified it (just a little) to give all the details I wanted. Chloe loves her new coat, but now the weather has warmed up a bit, she'll have to wait a bit longer to wear it!

Malibu
This Farbenmix pattern has been on my wish to sew list all summer, but I wasn't sure about it as a summer dress, so decided to wait for autumn. I've made it in Finkenwerder fine cord from Dots n Stripes and underneath is a twisted sleeves top in navy cotton jersey from the Spring 2012 Issue of Ottobre Design. I'm looking forward to seeing Chloe in in this autumn...

Citrus Splash
I've always loved purple and lime green, so couldn't resist making a skirt in this patterned cotton!

The King of Bags
Taken from the Farbenmix "Taschenspieler" CD I made the "Konig" bag at 90% of it's original size, and I love the result. I hope Chloe will too when she returns from her seaside holiday!
