Owl always love making Christmas presents for my friends (sorry!) especially with lovely fabrics and even more so when cute owls are involved, so I couldn't resist making this cosmetic purse for a friend, who, I think loves owls even more than me!

Mini Me
Having made a top for myself, all ready for Christmas, my dear daughter asked if she could have a dress from the rest of the material.....
....I'm keeping my top for New Year's Eve!!!!

Sweet as Sugar
The name of this skirt pattern is 'Zucka' with always reminds me of the German for sugar...and it is a really sweet skirt to sew. Chloe wanted me to use this pretty cotton, that she's had her eyes on for over a year now, so I've lined the skirt with a cotton lining to make it suitable for this time of year.

Fly Away Feathered Friend
I made this gorgeous (yes I'm biased) owl this morning as a present for an owl loving friend and managed to take a quick picture in a fleeting moment of sunshine before my owl flew the nest....

Shades of Autumn
I fell in love with the colours of this fabric and made this top and scarf for me just in time as the weather has suddenly turned very autumnal....

Gone Dotty
Not me...honest!!!
Chloe loved this polka dot babycord when I brought it home from the NEC in March, so it had to become the first of the autumn skirts. The pattern is Airmail Express from the Spring 2012 issue of Ottobre Design, and with the addition of some buttonhole elastic at the back it's a lovely fit. And since winter is dark enough I chose to make a nice bright apple green jersey top (to match the buttons)!

Sylvie's Sac
My sister in law, Sylvie and I spent a lovely day, together with Chloe at Easter time browsing all the boutiques in Caen for suitable 'Mother of the Groom' outfits. Once the outfit was chosen Sylvie asked if I would make her a larger bag for her to put her camera and other bits and pieces in. I came up with the idea of combining imitation leather with taffeta for a (hopefully) practical bag with a touch of luxury....

A Weekend In France
...Spent celebrating my Nephew's wedding which took place in the Cathedral of St Pierre in Lisieux, followed by the reception at the Chateau du Mesnil d'O, which was as grand as it sounds and absolutely superb. Chloe also had the honour of carrying the rings into the Cathedral before the ceremony, which was a lovely surprise for her....

Monochrome Mode
Ready for the change of season I've started on Chloe's Autumn wardrobe:
That said, I'm in no hurry to say goodbye to the lovely warm sunshine we've had this last week...
Wise Old Owl
Hopefully grown up enough for my daughter in her last year of Primary school, but still not too grown up.... Mind you if Chloe gets tired of her new bag and pencil case - I'll happily have them!!!

Surprise Sunshine
We didn't intend to go to France this summer...but the forecast for the weather here wasn't looking very promising, so we found a last minute flight to Geneva and a fantastic B&B near Gap, and ended up having 6 amazing days:

Thank you presents
Chloe was lucky enough this year to have had two fantastic teachers, so we decided it would be nice to make them thank you presents that they could keep..so for one (very special one)I made a bag and Chloe helped make the pencil case:
And for her class teacher (a young gentleman) who likes writing a covered notebook & pen (accompanied of course by a bottle of Bordeaux to complete the theme):
Then we learnt the fabulous news that her favourite teacher will stay with her year group next year and become her class teacher...only what do we do at the end of next year?
